Our Story

A passion for boating and being on the water often begins while we are young. Bill Talley, the founder and owner of Talley’s Pier 77 Marine, is no different. Bill’s passion began with his childhood trips to Uncle John’s river cabin on Lake Wylie. Many days spent on the water with family, skiing, swimming and fishing were enough to get him hooked. One thing lead to another and Bill found himself a boat owner before he even was old enough to drive a car.

Bill began his career as an auto mechanic and soon opened his own service station. His motto “We Do It Right Or We Won’t Do It At All” began in his shop, displayed for every customer to see. Today, that same sign can be seen from the parts and service counter. He earned an excellent reputation for his quality of service, integrity and honesty. Talley’s Pier 77 Marine was born in 1986 to share his passion for boating and to offer high quality boats and service at a great value to the Lake Norman Area.

For the Talley’s, boating is a family activity. Just like boating, Talley’s Pier 77 Marine is all about family. Bill and Sara along with two of their sons (Billy and Joey) all manage different aspects of the day to day business. The Talley’s embody the belief that each employee is part of the Talley family. They feel boating is one of the best activities any family can do together and will enrich the lives of every family member with unforgettable memories.

In 2002, the Talley’s came across the opportunity to become an authorized dealer for Regal Boats. Regal is a perfect match for the Talley’s! “Regal is a family owned and operated business just like we are. You can see the passion the Kuck’s have for boating in the outstanding quality of each and every model they build”, says Bill. The Talley’s were impressed with Regal’s quality, construction and integrity. By August of 2002, Talley’s Pier 77 Marine displayed Regal boats at the August Boat Show in Charlotte. Their passion for boating and the Regal brand is evident in each team member.

Now an authorized dealer for Regal Boats, Volvo Penta and Yamaha Outboards, the Talley’s represent the industry’s best boats and engines with the best service reputation in the area to go with it. Talley’s Pier 77 Marine has been awarded for exceptional customer service by ranking 1st in customer satisfaction with a score of 100% among Regal Dealers worldwide. This was achieved not once but three times while still ranking in the top 10 for sales volume worldwide for Regal Boats! The Talley’s have built an excellent team of hard working and dedicated people that are proud to be a part of the Talley team.
