GARMIN UPDATE
Keeping the software up to date on your electronics helps get the most out of your boating experience. Newer boats are getting more sophisticated, we rely on these electronics for not only our instruments but for navigation, surf controls, important operation function and more. You may not notice any difference after every update, however, we see improvements, new layouts and features often. There are 3 ways to keep you Garmin Electronics up to date.
- Our preferred method is updating using the Garmin ActiveCaptain app on your phone and the WiFi network on your Garmin devise. You should have had your Garmin ActiveCaptain App set up on orientation.
- Another is to download the update file from Garmin and load onto a SD card (8 GB min Size – 32 GB max size). This method requires access to the SD card reader on your devise. Check your boat for an external card reader or for access to the built in card reader on your devise. Older units have a door on the from of the devise to load the SD or MicroSD card. Newer 7″, 9″, 12″ devised have readers located on the back of the devise (access can be difficult). Insert the card and follow the directions on the screen. Be sure to follow the instructions carefully if you want to attempt updating using this method.
- Of course, we can handle it for you would rather the pros do it. Contact our service team to perform the update for you. We can schedule a time to update or handle next time we are aboard your boat. Call or email 704-892-8555 or service@talleyspier77.com.
